The Milgauss was a breakthrough watch for Rolex. There had been watches designed for divers, for aviators, for motor sports, but this is among the first to be created expressly for professionals working in the fields of science. Launched in 1956, The Milgauss is capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. A new version released in 2007 gives even greater protection from magnetic interference. Celebrity owners of the Milgauss include Eric Clapton and the current James Bond, Daniel Craig.
